Challenging Disability Through Outdoor Adventure

Windmill Travel Club are founding members of a charitable trust and multi-agency partnership delivering carefully planned memorable days out and short respite breaks to adults and children who have complex mobility requirements, physical & mental difficulties or a life limiting illness.

Our specially adapted ambulance coach is fully accessible to wheelchair users and is equipped with an electric hoist with a ceiling to seat tracking mechanism, a fresh water toilet & washroom, a kitchen with fridge & microwave and an on board specially trained medical team, including doctors, nurses and their dedicated support workers.

Our aim is to provide our service users with a memorable day out, or even a short respite weekend break, perhaps a trip to the seaside for a lovely picnic or into the countryside for some fun and fresh air, or some adventurous and aspirational activities our service users can only dream of.

Our dedicated medical team and specialist intensive therapy carers and their support workers all give their time up for free ensuring that our unique day trips and short respite breaks proceed with the appropriate standard of care and personal support required by our service users.

Coach travel operations are funded by Windmill Travel Club and any additional activities, meal arrangements and venue entrance fees are financially supported by our charitable trust, local authorities, local businesses and private donations.

Windmill Travel Club sincerely thank our supporters of The Kielder Project.
